Range, Refrigeration and washer Fault Codes are very much used these days on the newer Electonic Controls.
This guide may be incomplete as manufactures use different parts on different models. This is a general guide to fault codes. We assume no responsibility for any action taken on your part as a result of using this guide. Consult your owners manual, as it may give the fault codes for your particular model. Contact a local servicer for repairs.
If you didn't find your model/ brand in these fault code charts Contact us! Maybe we can help find your code.

Maytag washer front load neptune:
Display Code | Description | Trigger | Action to be taken |
DO | Door Open | Door monitor switch in door lock mechanism is not able to communicate to the control board is open. | 1.Make door is closed.
2.Check for loose wire connections at switch and/ or machine control board.
3.Check for failed door monitor switch.
4.Check inputs and outputs at machine control board.
5.Replace responsible component.
|
FL | Failed to look | Door lock monitor switch in door lock mechanism unable to communicate to control board the door is locked. | 1.Check wire connections in harness leading from machine control board to door lock mechanism.
2.Check solenoid and door lock enable switch in door lock mechanism.
3.Replace responsible component.
|
LO | Door failed to unlock | Door lock monitor switch does not indicate to the machine control board that the solenoid in the door lock mechanism retracted and unlock the door. | 1.Check for debris inside inside the door lock mechanism, which may be jamming the lock solenoid.
2.check wire connections in harness leading from machine control board to door lock mechanism.
3.Check the door lock monitor switch for welded contacts.
4.Replace responsible component.
|
Lr | Locked Monitor Rotor | Based in signal information from motor control board, the machine control board senses the motor is not turning when requested to run | 1.Run motor control board diagnostic test.
2.Check motor control board for damaged components.
3.Check wire connections in harness leading from machine control board to motor control board.
4.Replace responsible component.
|
ND | No Drain | Machine control board monitors water level in washer during and at the end of pump out. If wash level does not reset pressure switch, it will see water left in the washer. | 1.Check for pump/drain restriction.
2.Check pump operation.
3.Check pressure switch for open contacts.
4.Check inputs and outputs at machine control board.
5.Replace responsible component.
|
NF | No Fill | Washer does not turn on water valves to fill washer with water. | 1.Is the water turned on?
2.Check inlet hose screens for restriction.
3.Check wire connections in harness leading from machine control board to pressure switch.
4.Check water valve.
5.Check inputs and outputs at machine control board.
|
OD | Opened Door not sensed by machine control board | Machine control board did not see the door open prior to the beginning of a new wash load. | 1.Open and close door, then restart washer.
2.Check wire connections in harness leading from machine control board to door lock mechanism.
3.Check door monitor switch for welded contacts.
4.Check inputs and outputs at machine control board.
|
Sd | Suds | Machine has detected high levels of suds. | The machine will alter it's cycle for this situation. Use an HE detergent or cut down on the amount of detergent slightly. This can be more likely on towel loads, consider HE detergent especially for these loads. |
PF | Power failure | Power to the machine has been lost during the last cycle. | This may occur on start up of a new machine due to factory testing. |

Maytag Neptune fault code:
Hall Sensor – PCB that is located on the back of the motor that senses motor rpm. It is not a
separate part, but rather an integral part of the motor.
“E3” code – Machine control is attempting to drive the motor but is not seeing any tach
response. Visual Check shows motor is not moving. (Locked or Hall Sensor fault.)
“dc” code – Machine never exceeded 400 RPM due to an unbalanced load.
“SUdS” or “Sd” –Suds are detected during the washing session. “SUdS” is not an error. If
the washer is in suds period, “SUdS” will light up (on 2 digit display, “Sd” will show on the
display), instead of the time remaining.
